The standards behind these guides

Every technical guide here is written against published rules, not marketing copy. 44 pages across the site carry a dated “Sources checked” line listing the exact clauses used, so you can verify a figure instead of trusting it.

  • OSHA 29 CFR 1910.107 — spray finishing: the 100 ft/min airflow floor, booth construction, 3 ft and 20 ft clearance, housekeeping, and filter-disposal rules.
  • OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106 — flammable liquids: storage-cabinet limits (60 gal Category 1–3, 120 gal Category 4) and cabinet fire-resistance.
  • OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 — respiratory protection: engineering controls first, medical evaluation, annual fit testing, assigned protection factors.
  • OSHA 29 CFR 1926.66 — construction-industry spray-booth text, verbatim the same construction and clearance wording as 1910.107.
  • 40 CFR Part 63 Subpart HHHHHH (the 6H NESHAP) — paint stripping and surface coating: § 63.11173 98% filter capture, whole-vehicle enclosure at negative pressure, painter certification, gun-cleaning rule; § 63.11169 the two-vehicles-per-year threshold.
  • ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 52.2-2017 — the filter-efficiency test procedure the 6H rule points to when demonstrating 98% paint-overspray capture.
  • NFPA 701 — the standard flame-propagation test method for textiles and films, which is what a fabric enclosure should be evaluated against.
  • EPA paint stripping and surface coating rule page and NIOSH isocyanate guidance — the plain-language rule summary and the health-effects background for the coatings we ventilate.

Where a standard's text is not publicly readable — NFPA 33, for example, is read through a login — we say it applies and point you to your local fire authority rather than quoting a number from a document we have not read.
